Internship FAQs
How do I join a team?
Contact us and ask for an application. Once accepted, you’ll receive an informational packet with details on support raising, passports and visas, immunization requirements, and how to prepare your heart and mind.
When is the application due?
Applications for internships, along with a $50 non-refundable deposit, are due in February.
Is there an age requirement?
Yes, applicants must be 18 prior to departure.
What is the cost?
Costs vary by field, but typically range from $4000 to $5500.
Can my church or school form their own team to send on an internship?
Yes, this is a great idea and we can help churches and school groups send out teams. We’ll work with you to match your needs to one of the opportunities on our fields.
Is there an orientation?
Yes, you’ll spend two days at World Team’s US Sending Center outside of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. You will get to know your teammates, worship together, and receive cross-cultural training in preparation for your summer ministry. Once you’re on the field, you will be paired with a missionary mentor.
Will there be a debriefing?
Yes, your team on the field will help you begin to process what you’ve experienced and learned. Then you’ll participate in a one-day debrief at the US Sending Center to help you continue to reflect and respond, as well as prepare you to share your experience with others.
Do I need travel insurance?
Yes, all of our interns are required to have travel insurance prior to departure.
