Welcoming God’s Word

Celebrating the arrival of the Kimyal NT

In May of 2010 the Kimyal people had a massive celebration in honor of the reception of their first native language New Testament.  The arrival of this day would not have been possible if it weren’t for the church acting in unison as the singular body of Christ.  From the missionaries who went, to the supporters who donated their finances and who prayed, to the Kimyal themselves who worked tirelessly to make the translation happen.

The work among the Kimyal was begun by Phil & Phyliss Masters in 1963. When Phil and Stan Dale were martyred by a group from a neighboring village in 1968 – Paul & Kathryn Kline, Elinor Young, Rosa & Orin Kidd and others joined in the effort to continue the evangelism, discipleship and translation work with the Kimyal.
